George H. Philibert, CPA/ABV, CVA, CFF is the President of GHP Advisors, PC, which he founded in 1990. His practice focuses on the tax and business advisory needs of closely held businesses and their owners, business valuations, litigation support, and family accounting and advisory services. He has 42 years of public accounting experience, including having been a Partner and former Director of Tax Services at a regional accounting firm.

George has been a frequent speaker for various business and professional groups on topics relating to tax, business valuations, and operating structure for the business entity. He has also provided expert testimony on tax and business valuation matters. He has published training materials for the National Business Institute on such topics as: income tax planning; equitable distribution in divorce settlements; business valuations; use of family limited partnerships; choices of entity in business formation; and estate and fiduciary income tax considerations.

George is accredited in business valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; certified as a valuation analyst by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts; and certified in financial forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. His experience includes many cases involving such matters as marital dissolutions, spousal maintenance and related tax issues; estate and gift tax planning; buy-sell agreements; and acquisition and disposition of business interests.

George is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

As an active volunteer in the Burlington community, George is current Treasurer for the Howard Center and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Vermont Foundation for Children and Families. He is also a past Board President of the Baird Center for Children and Families; past Board President of the Howard Center for Human Services; and past Co-Founder and Board President of Vermont Jump$tart for Personal Financial Literacy, Inc. He has also served as a member and Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Burlington Rotary Club.

George resides in South Burlington spending most of his time admiring the accomplishments of his twin daughters, Anna and Bryn, and attempting to improve his golf and tennis game with his wife Annmarie Plant.
